ST. JOHN'S, N.L. – Desmond Lee scored 31 points to lead the host St. John’s Edge to a 123-116 win Sunday to sweep a pair of weekend games from the Island Storm.

Carl English added 23 points and Maurice Jones Sr. and Diego Kapelan each chipped in 19 in the win. Keith Wright Jr. and Obinna Oleka had a team-leading seven rebounds while Jones Sr. dished out nine assists.

Sampson Carter had 28 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Storm. Russell Byrd chipped in with 25 points, nine rebounds, five assists, five steals and a block while Alex Campbell had 25 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The Edge led 30-26 after the first quarter but went to the halftime break trailing 58-57 in front of 2,899 fans at Mile One Centre. The Edge outscored the Storm by 14 in the third quarter to go to the fourth up 95-82.

The Edge improved to 4-5 while the Storm dropped to 2-4. The Storm hits the road for Ontario this week, playing the expansion Sudbury Five Friday and the Windsor Express Sunday.
