X-Women defeat Panthers 2-1 to close out AUS regular season

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. —

Santana Gravelle and Tyra Meropoulis scored power-play goals to pace the St. FX X-Women to a 2-1 victory over the UPEI Panthers Sunday on the final day of the Atlantic University Sport women's hockey regular season.

Emily Power had two assists while Lindsey Donovan and Summerside’s Lydia Schurman each added one.
Rachel Colle from Jenna Pellerin and Kristen MacIntyre replied for the Panthers in the second period.
Carley Molnar made 23 saves for the win while Camille Scherger stopped 29 shots in the loss.
St. FX held 2-0 and 2-1 period leads. The X-Women were 2-for-6 on the power play while killing all six of the Panthers chances.
St. FX improved to 18-7-3 while UPEI (14-13-1) finished the regular season fifth. St. Thomas and St. FX earned first-round byes.
