CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Camille Scherger made 43 stops Saturday as the UPEI Panthers punched their ticket to the Atlantic University Sport post-season.

Kaylee Dufresne, a third-year forward from Orleans, Ont., and Taylor Gillis, a rookie forward from Summerside, scored for the Panthers in a 2-0 victory over the St. FX X-Women in Antigonish, N.S.

After a scoreless first period, Dufresne gave the Panthers the lead heading to the third.

Cassidy McEwen stopped 13 shots in the loss.

The Panthers were 0-for-3 on the power play while killing all six of the X-Women’s chances with the extra attacker.

Fifth-place UPEI improved to 13-12-1 while the second-place X-Women drop to 16-7-3.

The Panthers complete the regular season on the road Saturday at UNB (13-9-4) and Sunday, Feb. 10, on home ice against the X-Women.
