SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The Western Wind has moved to within one win of the P.E.I. Midget AAA Female Hockey League championship.

The Summerside-based team can claim the provincial title with a victory on home ice at Credit Union Place on Tuesday, when the Wind and Central Storm from Charlottetown renew acquaintances in Game 3 of the best-of-five championship series. Puck drop is set for 6:50 p.m.
The Wind won the first two games by identical 5-2 scores, including a road decision in Game 2 at the Bell Aliant Centre on Sunday evening.

Gracie Hackett and Emma Dyer each had a goal and an assist while Gracyn Handrahan added a pair of helpers to lead the Wind offensively. Josee Gallant, Kylie Campbell and Hilarie Gaudet also dented the twine. Maci Hackett and Paige Deighan added single helpers.
Katelyn Doyle (1-1) and Jessica Turbide countered for the Storm Katelyn Drake (2) and Maggie Jamieson were credited with helpers.
The Wind led 3-1 after one period, and extended that margin to 5-2 at the end of two.
Danielle Gallant earned the goaltending win.
