KENSINGTON – Saturdays will continue to be ‘Hockey Night In Kensington.’

That is the day the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild will host 15 of 17 regular-season home games in the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League at Credit Union Centre.
The only two non-Saturday home games for the Wild, who has hosted the majority of their home games on Saturdays since arriving in Kensington for the 2013-14 season, include two matchups against the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Pride. Those dates are Friday, Nov. 23, and the annual Boxing Day clash on Wednesday, Dec. 26. All of Kensington’s home games are listed as 7:30 p.m. starts.

The Wild will open the 2018-19 regular season on the road against the Saint John Vitos on Friday, Sept. 14. Kensington’s home opener is scheduled for the following week, when the Northern Moose from Bathurst, N.B., visit on Sept. 22.
Overall, the Wild will play 13 back-to-back games during the regular season, which is starting and finishing a week earlier than normal due to the 2019 Canada Winter Games in February. The Wild’s regular-season finale is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 10, on the road against the Moose.

The Pride also opens the regular season away from home against the Fredericton Caps on Sunday, Sept. 16, at 3 p.m. Charlottetown’s home opener at the Bell Aliant Centre on the UPEI campus is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 5, against the Wild. It will be the first of seven meetings between the P.E.I. teams.
The Pride’s final game of the regular season is in Kensington on Saturday, Feb. 9.
All six teams will play a 35-game regular-season schedule.
At the end of the regular season, the New Brunswick teams will compete in their own playoffs to determine the province’s representative at the Atlantic championship, and the Wild and Pride will meet in a series to decide the P.E.I. champion, with the team finishing higher in the standings earning home-ice advantage.
