Western falls to Nova Scotia at Atlantic midget AAA female hockey championship

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The Western Wind fell 5-1 to Station Six from Nova Scotia in the opening game of the 2019 Atlantic midget AAA female hockey championship in Bathurst, N.B., on Thursday afternoon.

Station Six, which built period leads of 1-0 and 3-0, received goals from Jillian Duggan (2), Chloe Delano, Maja Kolanko and Ellen Laurence.
Hilarie Gaudet, assisted by Paige Deighan and Tianna Gallant, replied for the Summerside-based Wind, champions of the P.E.I. Midget AAA Female Hockey League.
Friday, the Wind plays New Brunswick’s Fundy Nationals at noon and the host Northern Lightning at 8:30 p.m.
