SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals fell out of the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s top-20 national rankings on Monday.

The Caps, who are 6-2-0 (won-lost-overtime losses), were ranked 19th last week and split two games last week – losing 5-1 on the road to the Grand Falls Rapids (2-4-1) on Friday night and winning 2-1 over the Pictou County Crushers (3-3-0) in Summerside on Saturday evening.

Two Maritime Junior Hockey League teams were ranked nationally this week. The Edmundston Blizzard, who received an honourable mention last week, was ranked 10th while the South Shore Lumberjacks jumped from 12th position to 10th.

The Blizzard and Lumberjacks, who sport identical records of 7-1-0 (won-lost-overtimes), both visit Eastlink Arena to face Caps this week. The Lumberjacks provide the opposition Thursday and Edmundston is in Summerside on Saturday. Both games are 7 p.m. starts.
