SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — It has been a busy weekend for Island Junior Hockey League teams.
The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers and Eastern Maniacs picked up road wins in interlocking games against New Brunswick Junior Hockey League teams on Friday night, and the Sherwood-Parkdale A&S Scrap Metal Metros defeated the Maniacs 3-1 on Saturday. The Vipers topped the Moncton Vitos 6-3 while the Maniacs downed the Cap-Pele Predators 3-1.
Sunday, the Maniacs, who are 3-23-0 (won-lost-overtime losses), will visit the Vipers (20-8-0) and the Metros (12-13-2) travel to Abram-Village to take on the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings (24-3-2). Both games are 7 p.m. starts.

Vipers 6 Vitos 3
In Moncton, N.B., six different players – Logan Vandervelden (1-1), CJ McCardle (1-1), Morgan Darbyson (1-1), Jonathan Arsenault (1-1), Riley Smith and Dylan Wheatley – scored for the Vipers. Jesse Jay and Garrett Murray each chipped in with two assists.
Patrick Landry (1-1), Brock McEwen and Samuel Savoie replied for Moncton.
The Vipers held period leads of 3-1 and 4-3.
Winning goaltender Caleb Coyle finished with 36 saves.

Maniacs 3 Predators 1
In Cap-Pele, N.B., Tyson MacInnis scored a hat trick to account for all three of Eastern’s goals. Cole Jenkins added two assists while Cam Duffy made 29 saves in recording the goaltending win.
Zack Kerwin countered for Cap-Pele.
The Predators led 1-0 after the first period, and the teams went into the second intermission tied 1-1.

Metros 3 Maniacs 1
In Souris, Connor Gray (1-1), Cale Pierce and Taylor Runighan provided goals for the Metros.
Eddie Jenkins answered for the Maniacs.
The teams were tied 1-1 after the first period, and the Metros led 2-1 at the end of two.
Ben Parent stopped 29 of 30 shots in earning the goaltending win. Noah Laybolt faced 38 shots for Eastern.
