The Tignish Aces had a strong showing at the recent Morell peewee A hockey jamboree.
The Aces went 3-0 (won-lost) while outscoring their opponents 13-1 to advance to the championship game, where they dropped a 6-1 decision to the Sherwood Team Two Falcons.
Devon Hill (3-1) and Matthew Stanley (3) accounted for the Falcons’ scoring while Mason MacKenzie, Brendan Cheverie, Ewan Rogerson and Damen Compton added assists.
Hunter Perry, assisted by Henry Arsenault and Andre Bernard, had the Aces’ goal.
Winning goaltender was Cole Fitzpatrick.
Aces goaltender Michael Doucette recorded all three wins in the round robin, including two shutouts.
Tournament scoring stats for the Aces were Perry (3-5), Arsenault (2-2), Jameson Perry (2-2), Kenzie Harper (2-1), Neville Richard (2), Justin Chaisson (1-1), Bernard (1-1), Pierson DesRoches (1-0), Benson Doucette (0-1) and Jerry McInnis (0-1).
