MONCTON, N.B. – Moncton Wildcats defenceman Jordan Spence has been named the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s (QMJHL) rookie of the month for October.
The 17-year-old Cornwall native sits tied for second in rookie scoring, and tied for fourth overall among all defencemen.
Spence recently produced a five-game point streak in which he recorded seven assists while both of his goals this season came as a triggerman on the power play.
Spence, who was selected by the Wildcats in the second round of the 2018 QMJHL Entry Draft, was named the 2017-18 MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) rookie of the year while playing with the Summerside Western Capitals.
In 17 regular-season games with the Wildcats, Spence has two goals and 12 assists for 14 points.
