SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The O’Leary Maroons are now just one win away from advancing to the West Prince Senior Hockey League championship series.

The Maroons outlasted the Wellington Flyers 7-5 at the Evangeline Recreation Centre on Saturday night to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five semifinal series. The Maroons have an opportunity to complete the sweep on home ice at the O’Leary Community Sports Centre on Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Darcy Tuplin (2-2), Tyson Callaghan (2-1) and Mike MacIsaac (1-2) led the Maroons in Game 2. Nick Reilly (1-1) and Lukas Dyment also scored for O’Leary.
Colin Arsenault (1-2), Todd MacDougall (1-1), D’Arcy LaPierre (1-1), Abel Arsenault (1-1) and Brett Ramsay answered for the Flyers.
The Maroons led 3-1 after the opening 20 minutes, and extended that margin to 6-3 at the end of two periods.
Chase Dyment earned the goaltending win over Neil Arsenault.
