CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Saint John Sea Dogs returned the favour Friday night at the Eastlink Centre.

A week after losing 9-2 to the Charlottetown Islanders in New Brunswick, the Sea Dogs blasted the host Isles 7-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League pre-season action.

Brady Burns and Ben Badalamenti each had two goals and an assist to lead the way while Alex Drover, Jeremie Poirier and Dawson Stairs each chipped in a goal and a helper.

Noah Laaouan and Patrick LeBlanc scored for the Islanders while Keiran Gallant and Cedric Desruisseaux had assists.

Noah Patenaude made 31 stops for the win while Jacob Goobie allowed seven goals on 38 shots.

The Sea Dogs held 1-0 and 4-1 period leads.

Neither team scored on the power with Saint John having four chances and Charlottetown three. Saint John won 59 per cent of the faceoffs and out hit the home side 15-8.

The Islanders complete the pre-season Sunday in Moncton at 4 p.m. The two teams begin the regular season Friday, Sept. 20, at the Eastlink Centre.
