COCAGNE, NB

Alex Morrissey scored the game’s first two goals in leading the Western Red Wings to an 8-0 trashing of the Kent Koyotes in a P.E.I./NB Junior C interlocking game Friday night at the Cocagne Arena.

Bronson Banks earned the shutout, turning aside 24 Koyotes shots. The Red Wings fired 49 shots at the Kent goal.

Also scoring twice for the Red Wings, who were out in front 3-0 after the first period and 6-0 after two periods, was Chase Gallant. Isaac Knox (1,2), Curklan Fraser (1,1), Jason Gallant (1,1) and Cole Hackett also scored for the Red Wings. Abel Arsenault and Lucas Beaulieu had two assists each, and single helpers went to Silas Handrahan and Calvin McRae.

The Red Wings took five of the game’s 12 minor penalties. Each team was assessed two fighting majors and two game misconducts.
