MONCTON, N.B. – The Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings’ winning streak is still alive after a dramatic road win Thursday night.
Jason Gallant scored his second goal of the game with 55 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the visiting Red Wings into a 4-4 tie with the Moncton Vitos in an interlocking game between the Island Junior Hockey League (IJHL) and New Brunswick Junior Hockey League.
Then captain Chasse Gallant capped a hat-trick performance with the overtime winner to give the Red Wings a 5-4 win.
Lucas Beaulieu (2) and Cole Hackett added assists for the Red Wings, who improved their IJHL league-leading record to 16-5-2 (won-lost-overtime losses).
Alexandre Gallant (2), Pascal Dupuis and Joseph Theriault replied for the Vitos.
The Red Wings held period leads of 3-1 and 3-2.
Winning goaltender was Bronson Banks.
The Red Wings’ next game is Sunday night in Souris against the Eastern Maniacs (6-16-1).
