CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Pride will be the host for the 2019 major midget Atlantic championships.
It will take place at MacLauchlan Arena from April 4-7, Hockey P.E.I. announced Friday.
“We are very excited that we will be able to stage a great event,” said Jamie Blanchard representing the Charlottetown Pride and the host committee. “Not only will it be a great experience for our own players, but we plan on making sure to make this event something all teams will remember.”
The provincial champs from Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the two Prince Edward Island squads will battle for a spot in the Telus Cup national championship, April 22-29 in Sudbury, Ont.
Because P.E.I. is hosting both the Pride and Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild have a berth in the Atlantics.
The Pride was successful in their bid attempt, as they were selected by a committee comprised of members of Hockey P.E.I. Minor Council.
