CRAPAUD – The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces took advantage of the power play on Saturday night.

The Aces scored three power-play goals, including one by Dawson Sellick on a five-minute man advantage with 50 seconds remaining in regulation time, to edge the Southside Lynx 4-3. The win gives the Aces a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five semifinal series in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League.
Tignish has an opportunity to complete the sweep on home ice at the Tignish Credit Union Arena on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

At the South Shore Actiplex, the Lynx led 2-1 after one period, and the teams went into the second intermission tied 2-2.
The Aces’ Drake Smallman (3:24) and the Lynx’s Ryan Beckingham (7:33) exchanged power-play goals in the third period.
Brydon Smith (1-1) and Brayden Arsenault also scored for the Aces. Brayden Handrahan (2), Chase McHugh and Matthew Bowness chipped in with assists.
Chandler Dawson and Brady VanderVelden also found the back of the net for the Crapaud-based Lynx. Tyson Beckingham (2), Ryan Beckingham, Morgan Darbyson, Nick VanderVelden and Matthew St. Thomas contributed helpers.
Overall, the Aces outshot the Lynx 31-20, including a 14-5 advantage in the third period. Andrew Gallant earned the goaltending win, and Sean MacPhee was between the pipes for Southside.
