SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A Prince Edward Islander played a key role in the Campbellton Tigers punching their ticket to the second round of the Canadian Tire playoffs in the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League).

Forward Coleton Perry of North Bedeque scored a goal, assisted on another and was named the first star in the Tigers’ 5-0 win before 2,461 fans at the Campbellton Memorial Civic Centre on Saturday night.
The win gives the Tigers a 4-1 series victory in the best-of-seven Eastlink North Division semifinal. Campbellton now faces the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals in the best-of-seven final series, which is expected to start at Eastlink Arena this weekend.

Perry, a product of the Kyle Dunn-coached Kensington Wild major midget program, is in his second season with the Tigers. He had four points – one goal and three assists – in the five-game series versus Edmundston.
Perry had 28 goals, including 15 goals, in 46 regular-season games.
