The bus trip home may have felt a little longer for the Ottawa 67’s Sunday after they wrapped their trip through Northern Ontario with a 2-0 loss to the Sudbury Wolves in the afternoon.
Mataj Pekar and Brad Chenier scored to give the Wolves the victory. What would have been a tying goal by Mitch Hoelscher of the 67’s in the second period was called back because of a goaltender interference call and, as a result, the Wolves were never forced to look back.
Ottawa finished with a 1-2-0 record on the tour after starting the trip with a 6-2 loss Thursday in North Bay before scoring a 5-4 OT victory over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds Friday night.
The 67’s outshot the Wolves 26-24.
Ottawa will play host to the Kingston Frontenacs Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the annual school day game at the arena at TD Place. The doors will be open to the public and there will be no admission charge.
