SUDBURY, Ont. – The Notre Dame Hounds are the 2018 Telus Cup champions.

The Wilcox, Sask.-based school defeated the Cantonniers de Magog 5-1 in the Canadian major midget hockey championship tournament on Sunday night.
Summerside native Devan Praught is the head coach of the Hounds, who went undefeated in the national championship. Kevin White of Charlottetown is an assistant coach on Praught’s staff, and Brad Morrissey of Seacow Pond is a forward with Notre Dame.
Morrissey, who was unable to play in the championship game due to an injury he suffered on Friday, was named the tournament’s most sportsmanlike player on Saturday.
