Mooseheads split first two games with Voltigeurs

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Arnaud Durandeau scored the winner 5:45 into double overtime Saturday as the Halifax Mooseheads defeated the Voltigeurs 5-4 in Drummondville, Que.

The best-of-seven Quebec Major Junior Hockey League semifinal is tied 1-1 with Game 3 Tuesday at 7 p.m. Atlantic in Halifax.

The Voltigeurs led 1-0 after the first period and the game was tied 3-3 heading to the third. Pavel Koltygin scored 11:25 into the third for Drummondville but Samuel Asselin tied it with 1:19 remaining in regulation.

Former Charlottetown Islanders assistant captain Keith Getson had an assist for Halifax while going 19-for-34 in the faceoff circle. He scored in Friday’s 3-1 loss.

His former teammates in Charlottetown, Pierre-Olivier (P.O.) Joseph and Gregor MacLeod play for the Voltigeurs. Joseph’s first goal of the playoffs was the winner on Friday.
