Alexis Gravel made 24 saves Saturday as the Halifax Mooseheads shut out the banged-up Charlottetown Islanders 3-0 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Raphael Lavoie scored twice while Jared McIsaac had the empty-net goal at Scotiabank Centre. Justin Barron, Patrick Kyte, Antoine Morand, Samuel Asselin, Joel Bishop and former Isles assistant captain Keith Getson each had an assist.

Halifax native Matthew Welsh made 29 saves in the loss and was named the third star. Each team were 0-for-3 on the power play.

The Eastern Conference-leading Mooseheads improved to 41-12-2-1 while Charlottetown (30-18-4-3) is sixth in the conference. The Islanders play the Wildcats (31-18-3-4) Monday at 2 p.m. in Moncton.
