Midget Matrix spreads out scoring

SUMMERSIDE – The Robins Mid-Isle Matrix used a balanced offensive attack on Wednesday night.
A total of 12 players recorded points as the Matrix trimmed the Summerside Capitals 9-0 in a P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League game at Credit Union Place.
Ben Peters (2-1), Lucas Buch (2), Colin Goodwin (1-2), Harrison James (1-1), Owen MacFadyen, Zach Wilson and Callum Pineau scored for the Matrix, who improved their league-leading record to 9-2-1 (won-lost-tied). Nathan Mahar (3), Zac MacKay (3), Nick Havenga, Kyler Weeks and Kayden MacLeod added other assists.
The Matrix held period advantages of 5-0 and 6-0.
Jonah Arbing recorded an eight-save shutout as the Matrix directed 39 shots at Summerside goaltender Carter Champion.
The Caps fell to 2-10-0.
