CHARLOTTETOWN – The Sherwood-Parkdale Metros are the 2017-18 Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League champions.

The Metros defeated the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces 7-0  in the winner-take-all Game 7 of the best-of-seven final series on Thursday night. The Metros now move on to represent P.E.I. at the Maritime Hockey North junior C championship tournament, which is being held at the South Shore Actiplex in Crapaud. The Metros’ open play against Baffin (Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador) on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
At the Cody Banks Arena, the Metros jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the opening period, and extended that margin to 7-0 at the end of 40 minutes.
Brandon Sullivan had two goals and an assist, Logan Toole added a single marker and a pair of helpers and Tanner Power contributed three assists to pace the Metros’ attack. Jake Arsenault (1-1), Stephen Gaudet, Shawn Corney and Owen Arsenault also lit the lamp. Patrick Kenny, Luke Dibenedetto and Hunter Boudreau were credited with single helpers.
Blake Arsenault recorded a 32-save shutout. Tignish starter Bradley Shea stopped 19 of 26 shots while Andre Gallant turned aside all 15 shots he faced in relief.

Players of the week
It was announced on Wednesday night that Tignish teammates Chase McHugh and Brett Ramsay were named the league’s players of the week.
McHugh, who had six assists in two games, was named the top offensive performer. McHugh, a last-year junior player, recorded three assists in each of the Aces’ two games last weekend.
Ramsay is also a fourth-year player, and cashed in on some big shots from the blue-line and scored key goals for the Aces. Ramsay contributed a pair of goals and three assists to help the Aces send the final series to a Game 7.
