Men's hockey Panthers lose at Acadia

WOLFVILLE, N.S. – The host Acadia Axemen scored three third period goals to defeat the UPEI Panthers 5-2 in Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey action.

Acadia held 1-0 and 2-1 period leads.

Jackson Houck, Kyle Farrell, Stephen Harper, Garrett McFadden and Marc McNulty scored for the Axemen. Houck, Harper, Ryan Foss, Jack Flaman, Loch Morrison, Maurizio Colella and Rodney Southam had the assists.

Captain Brent Andrews scored shorthanded while Filip Rydstrom added an even strength goal. Assists went to Olivier Arseneau, Sam Aulie, Cody Payne and Troy Lajeunesse.

Logan Flodell made 23 stops for the win while Simon Hofley had 25 saves on 29 shots in the loss.

Acadia improved to 5-9-2 while UPEI is 8-6-1. The Panthers conclude the 2018 portion of the schedule Saturday at 7 p.m. against Saint Mary’s.
