MONCTON, N.B. – Two Prince Edward Islanders are now part of hockey history in Moncton, N.B.

Moncton Wildcats forward Jeremy McKenna of Summerside and defenceman Jordan Spence of Cornwall assisted on the first-ever goal – a power-play marker by Alexander Khovanov at 2:45 of the first period – in the recently-opened Avenir Centre.
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game attracted a sell-out crowd of 8,800 fans for its inaugural hockey game.

McKenna also scored his first goal of the regular season for a two-point night, and was named the game’s second star, as the Wildcats posted a 5-2 victory in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League contest.
Sea Dogs defenceman Charlie DesRoches of Days Corner also played in the game.
