SAINT JOHN, N.B. – Jeremy McKenna of Summerside provided some overtime magic for the Moncton Wildcats on Wednesday night.

McKenna scored his 30th goal of the 2017-18 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League regular season at the 49-second mark of the extra period to lift the Wildcats to a 4-3 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs before 3,904 fans at Harbour Station.
McKenna has 65 points –30 goals and 35 assists – in 59 games.
Elsewhere Wednesday, Raphael Lavoie scored at 1:09 of overtime to give the Halifax Mooseheads a 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Charlottetown Islanders before 2,337 fans at Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown.
Daniel Hardie and Nikita Alexandrov staked the Islanders to a 2-0 second-period lead, but Otto Somppi brought the Mooseheads to within 2-1 at 14:17 of the middle frame, and tied the game at 14:45 of the third period.
Overall, the Mooseheads outshot the Islanders 37-29. Alexis Gravel earned the goaltending win, and Matthew Welsh took the loss.
