Jeremy McKenna provided the offensive spark for the Moncton Wildcats on Sunday.
The forward from Summerside scored twice – his 28th and 29th goals of the 2018-19 season – in leading the Wildcats to a 4-1 win over the Charlottetown Islanders in a Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game played before 4,534 fans at the Avenir Centre.
McKenna, who was chosen as the game’s second star, now has 67 points in 44 regular-season games.
Also on Sunday, defenceman Noah Dobson of Summerside assisted on the game-winning for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies late in the third period of a 5-4 win over the host Halifax Mooseheads.
Dobson, who made his debut with the Huskies on Friday night after being acquired in a recent trade with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, has nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points in 31 regular-season games this year.
