SOURIS – Rookie CJ McCardle’s goal at 3:48 of the third period proved to be the difference for the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers on Sunday night.
McCardle, who also added an assist for a two-point night, made it a 2-0 game, and the Vipers would go on to post a 4-1 road decision over the Eastern Maniacs in an Island Junior Hockey League contest at the Eastern Kings Sportsplex.
Garrett Murray and Noah Stewart each had a goal and two assists for the Vipers, who upped their record to 6-5-2 (won-lost-overtime losses). Kyle Pinksen also scored while Ryan McKenna, Nathan Sanderson and Logan Vandervelden set up the Kensington goals.
Jonathan Arsenault netted the lone goal for the Maniacs (3-8-1).
The Vipers led 1-0 after the first and second periods.
Caelan Ferguson earned the goaltending win. Noah Laybolt was between the pipes for the Maniacs.
