MacIsaac records four points as O’Leary sweeps Wellington

O'LEARY, P.E.I. —

The O’Leary Maroons are headed to the West Prince Senior Hockey League championship series.

Mike MacIsaac had one goal and three assists to lead the Maroons to a 5-2 victory over the Welllington Flyers on Tuesday night. The win gave the Maroons a sweep in the best-of-five semifinal series, after winning the opener 6-4 in O’Leary and taking Game 2 by a 7-5 score in Abram-Village.
O’Leary will now face the winner of the semifinal series between the Tyne Valley Tornadoes and Alberton Regals. The Regals will take a 2-1 lead into Game 4 in Alberton on Wednesday at 8:15 p.m.

Also scoring
At the O’Leary Community Sports Centre, Darcy Tuplin (1-1), Scott Bernard, Jeff MacIsaac and Nick Reilly rounded out O’Leary’s scoring. Lukas Dyment, Tanner Gallant, Spencer Gallant and Tyson Carragher added assists.
For the Flyers, Matt Kelly (1-1) and Jamie Caissie found the back of the net. D’Arcy LaPierre, Brett Ramsay and Tyler Brown chipped in with helpers.
The Maroons held a pair of three-goal leads – 3-0 and 4-1.
Winning goaltender was Chase Dyment. Jordan Arsenault was between the pipes for Wellington.
The Flyers were assessed 12 minor penalties and five 10-minute misconducts. The Maroons received eight minors and three 10-minute misconducts.
