O’LEARY – The Tignish Aces overcame an early deficit to salvage a 3-3 tie with the O’Leary Maroons in P.E.I. Midget AA Hockey League action recently.
The Maroons jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period, but the teams were tied 2-2 after two in the contest played at the O’Leary Community Sports Centre.
Alex Arthur (1-1), Jesse Gavin and Walker Harper found the back of the net for Tignish. Alex McRae had an assist.
Jacob Gallant, Jaycob Sweet and Shawn MacDonald countered for the Maroons, who received helpers from Austin Banks, Nathan Grigg and Reece Arsenault.
Goaltenders were Ben Paynter (Tignish) and McGuire Gallant (O’Leary). Overall, the Maroons held a 35-25 shots-on-goal advantage.
