SUMMERSIDE – Alex MacEachern recorded five points, and the Sherwood-Parkdale Metros never trailed en route to an 8-2 victory over the Summerside Cover-All Construction Crunch on Monday night.
The Cody Banks Arena in Charlottetown was the site of the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League game.
MacEachern had two goals and three assists while Logan Toole and Brian Leslie each chipped in with a goal and a pair of helpers as the league-leading Metros upped their record to 12-1-0 (won-lost-overtime losses). Stephen Gaudet, Derian Johnson, Marc Cummiskey and Michael Jenkins added single markers while Ethan Larocque (3), Nick Brown (2), Patrick Kenny and Matt McAulay were credited with assists.
Brandon Hastings and Remi Arsenault replied for the Crunch (4-7-0). James Birt, Colton Morris and Kyle Kennedy were credited with assists.
The Metros jumped out to a 3-0 advantage after 20 minutes, and extended that margin to 8-2 at the end of 40 minutes.
Winning goaltender was James Duffy. Overall, the Metros held a 52-39 shots-on-goal advantage.
