SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Summerside native Brodie MacArthur will be the captain of the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals this season.
The team made the announcement in a news release on Wednesday.
The 2019-20 season will mark MacArthur’s fourth season as a Capital. He tied Darcy Tuplin’s record for points in a season with 110 in 2018-19 and was named the league MVP. He was also named Hockey P.E.I. player of the year.
“Brodie comes from a great family,” said head coach Billy McGuigan. “His father Rodney was a standout junior hockey player with the Charlottetown Abbies. Both Rodney and (Brodie’s mom) Kim instill high moral values. They are a driven family and we are proud to be a community hockey team.”
Training camp begins on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Credit Union Place.
