CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Will Levasseur scored four goals Monday as the Sherwood Metros thumped the South Side MacDonald’s Excavation/EF MacPhee Lynx 9-2 in Razzy’s Junior C Hockey League action.
Alex MacEachern added a pair of goals while singles went to Shawn Corney, Jonathan Gormley, Michael Jenkins at Cody Banks Arena. Corney and Nick Brown each had three assists while Brian Leslie and Ethan Larocque both had two and singles were credited to Levasseur, MacEachern, Patrick Kenny, Marc Cummiskey and Drew Bowman.
Dexter Harper and Rhys Caseley replied for the Lynx while Tyler Jurkowski had two helpers.
Sumner Docherty made 32 saves for the win while Caelen Ferguson was peppered with 60 shots in the loss.
Sherwood held 3-1 and 4-2 period leads before exploding for five goals in the final 20 minutes.
First-place Sherwood improved to 5-0-0 while South Side is 4-2-1-1.
