SLEMON PARK – Tanner Jamieson, Kolton Stright, Colton Morris and Isaac Stavert led the Summerside Cover-All Construction Crunch to victory in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League on Friday night.
Jamieson had two goals and an assist, Stright contributed a goal and two helpers, Morris lit the lamp twice and Stavert made 36 saves as the Crunch defeated the visiting Southside Lynx 7-3 at The Plex.
James Briand (1-1) and James Birt (1-1) also scored for the Crunch, who improved to 4-7-1 (won-lost-overtime losses). Chad Wilson (2), Parker LeClair, Tristan Gallant and Remi Arsenault contributed assists.
Brady VanderVelden (1-1), Tyson Beckinghan and Nathan Paynter scored for the short-staffed Lynx (7-7-0), who had 11 skaters listed on the game summary. Nick VanderVelden (2), Cameron Nelson (2) and Jake Larsen drew assists.
The score was tied 1-1 after the first period, but three unanswered second-period goals gave the Crunch a 4-1 lead heading into the final 20 minutes.
Koby Bridges stopped 37 of 44 shots for Southside, which hosts the North River Flames (7-7-0) in Crapaud on Saturday at 7:40 p.m.
