SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — An ineffective power play cost the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild in a first-place battle with the Moncton Flyers on Friday night.

The Wild failed to score on 12 man advantages while the Flyers went 1-for-7 en route to posting a big 3-0 win in the Hub City. The win gives the Flyers firm control of first place in the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League. Moncton, which is 24-3-1 (won-lost-overtime losses), opened up a four-point lead over the Wild (22-6-1). Moncton will play five of its seven final regular-season games at home. The Flyers also hold one game-in-hand on the Wild, who will play four of its final six games at home.
