ABRAM-VILLAGE, P.E.I. — The Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings are one win away from advancing to the Island Junior Hockey League championship series.
Alex Morrissey had two goals and two assists while Austin Taylor scored once and collected three helpers in leading the Red Wings to an 8-0 decision over the Eastern Maniacs on Tuesday night. The win gives the Red Wings a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven semifinal series, with Game 4 at the Eastern Kings Sportsplex in Souris on Friday at 8:30 p.m.
At the Evangeline Recreation Centre, Calvin McRae (1-2), Chasse Gallant (1-2), Brydon Smith (1-1), Isaac Knox and Silas Handrahan also scored for the Abram-Village-based Red Wings, who built period leads of 2-0 and 6-0. Single helpers went to Spencer Groom, Chandler Wood, Connor Morrissey and Isaac Callaghan.
Bronson Banks picked up a 16-save shutout. Noah Laybolt gave up six goals on 34 shots in 32 minutes for the Maniacs, and Cam Duffy was beaten twice on 28 shots in 28 minutes.

Metros vs. Vipers
Game 2 of the semifinal series between the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers and Sherwood-Parkdale A&S Scrap Metal Metros is scheduled to resume at the Cody Banks Arena in Charlottetown on Wednesday at 8 p.m. The Metros won the series opener 5-4 in overtime in Kensington on Sunday night.
