SUMMERSIDE – The Gulf Storm posted a 6-2 victory over the Summerside Capitals in the championship game of the Carline Automotive midget AA pre-season hockey tournament at Credit Union Place recently.
Krystoff Wigmore and Alex MacCarron each netted a pair of goals to lead the Gulf Storm. Patrick Wood (1-2) and Cameron Mill rounded out the scoring. Drew Doiron added an assist.
For the Capitals, Dylan McCormack and Brandon Gaudet scored while Brett Ballum and Blake Vandervelden chipped in with assists.
Konnor Hughes recorded the goaltending win.
Wigmore and McCormack were selected as the Source for Sports game stars.

Road to final
The Gulf Storm went 0-2-1 (won-lost-tied) in the round robin. They tied Cole Harbour 1-1 while losing 5-1 to Summerside and 3-1 versus Evangeline. In the semifinals, the Gulf Storm got by the Cole Harbour Wings 2-1, and Summerside posted a 5-3 decision over the Evangeline Flyers.
Summerside’s round-robin results included a 2-1 loss to Evangeline, a 5-1 win over the Gulf Storm and a 1-1 tie with Cole Harbour.
