CHARLOTTETOWN – Taylor Gillis of Summerside scored what proved to be the winning goal for the UPEI Panthers on Friday night.
Gillis, who has three goals and two assists for five points in her rookie season in the Atlantic University Sport Women’s Hockey Conference, gave the Panthers a 2-0 lead at 11:44 of the second period. UPEI would go on to edge the Dalhousie Tigers 2-1 at the Bell Aliant Centre on the UPEI campus.
The Panthers, who improved to 8-5-1 (won-lost-tied), host UNB (7-5-3) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Dalhousie dropped to 4-10-2.
