CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Chase Gaudette scored two goals and set up two more in the Western Regals 7-5 victory Monday over the Pownal Taco Boyz Red Devils in Prince Edward Island Midget AAA Hockey League action.
Chandler DesRoches had a goal and two helpers in the victory while Thomas Rennie had a goal and an assist at the Pownal Sports Centre. Austin Callaghan, Conor Horne and Michael McRae rounded out the scoring. Kalim DesRoches, Sam Hackett, Ethan Oliver and James Doyle each had an assist.
Will MacDougall scored three goals for Pownal while Lance Kennedy and Larkin Kennedy each added one. Brayden Betts, Carson Lund, Sam Langille and Larkin Kennedy each had an assist.
Aiden Williams earned the win while Caleb Drake took the loss. Pownal was 0-for-5 on the power play while Western was 0-for-2.
The game was tied 2-2 after the first period while Western took a 4-2 lead to the third.
Western improved to a league-leading 24-1-0 while Pownal (6-16-4) is in the basement in the five-team circuit.
