NEW GLASGOW, N.S. – Evan Gallant of Abram-Village led the Pictou County Crushers to a 5-4 victory over the Valley Wildcats in the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) on Thursday night.
Gallant, a graduate of the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild major midget program, scored his first career junior A hat trick and added an assist for a four-point night. He was also was selected the game’s first star.
Gallant’s unassisted goal at 8:33 of the third period gave the Crushers a 5-3 lead, and proved to be the game-winner.
In 19 regular-season games in his rookie campaign with the Crushers, Gallant has five goals and seven assists for 12 points.
