ALBERTON – Cole Gallant recorded the shutout as the Western Regals defeated the Summerside Capitals 5-0 in a P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League game on Saturday night.
The teams were scoreless after one period and the Regals took a 1-0 advantage into the second intermission, before putting the game out of reach with four goals in the final frame.
James Doyle (1-1), Riley Avery, Thomas Shea, Kane Arsenault and Oliver Smallman scored for the Regals, who are now 7-6-1 (won-lost-tied). Ethan Oliver (2), Tristan Cahill, Jesse Hackett and Ethan Rix assisted.
Carter Champion tended goal for Summerside (2-13-0).
The Regals hosted the contest at the Jacques Cartier Arena.
