BORDEN-CARLETON – The Mid-Isle Wildcats pulled out a nail-biter on Sunday.
Sophie Flynn’s goal at 3:45 of the second period proved to be the difference as the Wildcats edged the Kings County Kings 2-1.
The Gateway Arena was the site of the P.E.I. Midget AAA Female Hockey League contest.
The Wildcats’ Makayla Larsen set up Lexie Murphy for the game’s opening goal at 11:19 of the first period.
Jenna White, assisted by Kelly Clements, tied the score for the Kings with 13:21 to go in the second period.
The Wildcats were assessed six minutes in penalties while the Kings received four minutes.
