SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside Cover-All Construction Crunch is off to an impressive start in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior Hockey League.
The Crunch defeated the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces 10-3 on Saturday night. The Aces split their first two games after a 9-5 win over the North River Flames on Friday evening.
The Crunch returns to action on Monday against the defending-champion Sherwood-Parkdale Metros. Puck drop at Cody Banks Arena is 7:20 p.m.

At Credit Union Place’s Ice Pad in Summerside, the Crunch scored five unanswered second-period goals to open up a 7-2 lead after 40 minutes.
Marc-Andre Gallant (3), Logan Gray (2), Remi Arsenault (2), Brandon Hastings (1-3), Colton Morris (1-1) and Connor Jones scored for Summerside, which received four assists from Dylan Mugridge.
For the Aces, Brayden Handrahan, Colton Chaisson and Ryan Campbell netted single markers.
Winning goaltender Devon Newberry stopped 33 of 36 shots.

Aces 9 Flames 5
At Credit Union Arena in Tignish, Will Tuplin had three goals and three assists for a six-point effort to lead the Aces. Chaisson (2-1), Dawson Sellick (2), Brayden Arsenault (1-3) and Brady Albert rounded out the Aces’ scoring.
Tanner Hood (2-1), Tanner Power (2-1) and Connor Andrews (1-1) answered for North River.
The period scores were 3-1 and 8-4 in favour of the Aces.
McGuire Gallant turned aside 19 of 24 shots in earning the goaltending win.
