Brown nets winner for Express

POWNAL – Avery Brown scored what proved to be the winning goal for the Eastern Express on Thursday.
Brown found the back of the net in the second period to give the Express a 3-1 lead en route to a 3-2 win over the Mid-Isle Matrix. The Pownal Sports Centre was the site of the P.E.I. Major Bantam AAA Hockey League.
Aiden Arsenault and Carson Lund also scored for the Express, who improved to 6-7-4 (won-lost-tied). Gavin Mason and Gave Hartlen added assists.
Reese Wyand and Landon Hardy answered for the Matrix (3-14-0). Michael McQuaid and Kyle Mason assisted.
The period scores were 2-0 and 3-2 in favour of Eastern.
Winning goaltender was Caleb Drake. Ty Arsenault tended goal for Mid-Isle.
