O’LEARY – The Prince County Warriors erupted for three unanswered third-period goals en route to a 3-1 victory over the Mid-Isle Matrix.

 

The P.E.I. Major Bantam AAA Hockey League game was played at the O’Leary Community Sports Centre on Friday night.
Carson MacArthur (1-1) scored with 10:29 left in the third period to give the Warriors a 2-1 lead after Cody McCormack tied the game 1-1 with 13:03 remaining. Xavier Dalton added an insurance goal with 2:14 showing on the clock. Rankin Noye, Cole Hemphill and Wes Gavin also earned assists for the Warriors.
Angus Beaton, who was set up Jay MacDonald, gave the Matrix a 1-0 first-period lead.
Kiefer Thompson picked up the goaltending win. Noah Visser tended goal for Mid-Isle.
The Warriors’ record is 6-17-0 (won-lost-tied), and the Matrix sits at 4-19-0.
