CHARLOTTETOWN – The Prince County Warriors registered a wild win and a loss in weekend play in the P.E.I. Major Bantam AAA Hockey League.

The Warriors rallied from a 7-2 deficit after two periods to edge the Mid-Isle Matrix 8-7 on Friday night, and then dropped an 8-1 decision in a Saturday matinee against the Central Attack.
The two results leave the Warriors with a 1-3-0 (won-lost-overtime losses) record.

At the Bell Aliant Centre on the UPEI campus in Charlottetown, Chris Koughan (2), Kal White (2), Landon MacDonald, Jonah MacDonald, Cam Squires and Tyler Worth scored for the Attack (2-0-0). Will Morrison (4), Isaac Vos (3) and Nathan Mossey (2) had multiple-assist games.
Carson MacArthur, assisted by Cole Hemphill, netted the Warriors’ lone goal.
The Attack built period advantages of 2-0 and 6-1.
Winning goaltender was Jack Howatt.

Warriors 8 Matrix 7 (OT)
Patrick Shea’s power-play goal at 3:22 of overtime capped the Warriors’ comeback.
Edmund Perry (2-1), Rankin Noye (2), Clark Allain (1-1), Colby Perry (1-1) and Xavier Dalton also found the back of the net for the Warriors. Allain goal’s tied the game 7-7 with 1:24 remaining.

Cody McCormack added three assists.

Spencer Toole (4), Angus Beaton (1-1), Christopher MacDougall (1-1) and Brennan Murphy answered for the Matrix, who trailed 1-0 after the first period.
Keifer Thompson picked up the goaltending win.
