MONTAGUE, P.E.I. — A pair of Island defencemen were recently traded for one another in the Maritime Junior Hockey League.
The Grand Falls Rapids acquired Zach Arsenault of Montague from the Miramichi Timberwolves for Lucas MacAulay of Cardigan, Jordan Spadafore and future considerations.
Arsenault played for the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild major midgets in 2017-18 while MacAulay and Spadafore played for the Rapids. Arsenault and MacAulay both attend the Charlottetown Islanders major junior camp this summer.
Former Islanders assistant coach Brad MacKenzie is the head coach in Grand Falls, N.B.
Arsenault arrived in town Saturday and is expected to play tonight when the Rapids play Edmundston.
