TIGNISH – There are no longer any undefeated teams in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League.
The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces took care of that on Sunday night. The Aces scored two unanswered third-period goals for a 7-6 come-from-behind win over the previously-undefeated Sherwood-Parkdale Metros at the Tignish Credit Union Arena.
The teams were tied 2-2 after the opening period, and the Metros led 6-5 following 40 minutes. Brayden Handrahan tied the game with 6:41 remaining, and Brydon Smith, who had two goals and a pair of helpers, capped the comeback with 2:20 showing on the clock.
Colton Chaisson (1-2), Dawson Sellick (1-1), Matt Hardy and Matthew Bowness also scored for the Aces, who improved to 6-3-1 (won-lost-overtime loses). Drake Smallman, Jayden Arthur, Brett Ramsay and Keaton Horne also set up goals.
Jake Arsenault (2-1), Hunter Boudreau (1-1), Brandon Sullivan, Robert Hicken and Owen Arsenault countered for the Metros (9-1-0). Logan Toole had a big night contributing four assists while Stephen Gaudet and Ridge Crane added single helpers.
Andrew Gallant was the winning goaltender, and finished with 23 saves. Blake Arsenault faced 39 shots between the pipes for the Metros.
