SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Gracyn Handrahan scored three goals and assisted on two others for a five-point performance in leading the Western Wind to an 8-0 victory over the Kings County Kings on Thursday night in the opening game in the best-of-five semifinal series at Credit Union Place.

Macy Hackett (2-1), Paige Deighan, Brianna McCardle and Josee Gallant also scored for the Summerside-based Wind. Emma Dyer (3), Tianna Gallant and Hilarie Gaudet added assists.
Talynn Banks earned the shutout as the Wind built period leads of 1-0 and 5-0.
Game 2 is scheduled for Montague on Saturday at 5:50 p.m., with Game 3 back in Summerside on Sunday at 7 p.m.
