KENSINGTON – A four-goal third period sparked the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers to a 5-1 victory over the Eastern Maniacs on Tuesday night.

The Island Junior Hockey League make-up game was played at the Credit Union Centre in Kensington.
Four-point efforts by Garrett Murray (2-2) and CJ McCardle (1-3) ignited Kensington’s offence, which received single goals from Johnathan Arsenault (1-2) and Blake Gallant. Single helpers were credited to Ryan McKenna, Riley Smith and Dylan Wheatley.
Tyson McInnis, assisted by Chris Sear and Cole Jenkins, answered for the Maniacs.
There was no scoring in the first period, and the teams entered the final 20 minutes tied 1-1.
Cameron Visser stopped 24 of 25 shots in earning the goaltending win. Noah Laybolt had a much busier night in the Maniacs goal as he was tested 49 times and finished with 44 saves.
The Vipers improved to 14-7-0 (won-lost-overtime losses), and the Maniacs are 0-18-0.
